Dublin is set to experience some of the warmest conditions of the summer this week, with temperatures expected to climb as high as 25°C. However, alongside the sunshine, residents should be prepared for scattered showers and even the possibility of thunderstorms.

According to Met Éireann, the coming days will bring a mix of humid warmth and unsettled weather typical of an Irish summer. While sunny spells will dominate for much of the week, bursts of heavy rain and thunder could interrupt outdoor plans.

Warm and Sunny Start to the Week

Today will see highs of up to 24°C in the capital, with clear skies for much of the day. A light southerly breeze will keep conditions pleasant, but humidity levels will be high. The evening will start off largely dry, with clear spells, before isolated showers move in overnight. Temperatures will remain mild, not dipping below 12–16°C.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is set to continue the warm trend, with highs of 20–23°C. Met Éireann forecasts another mainly dry day, with bright sunshine in the morning giving way to scattered showers later. Overnight, temperatures will stay in the mid-teens as cloud builds from the southwest, potentially bringing outbreaks of rain by dawn.

Midweek Temperatures Soar

From Wednesday onwards, Dublin will enjoy peak temperatures of 21–25°C. The heat will be accompanied by sunny spells, but there is an increasing risk of showers moving in from the south, some of which could turn thundery. Nights will remain unusually warm, staying well above 14°C.

Wednesday Forecast (Met Éireann):

“Another mild and humid day with sunny spells though showers or showery outbreaks of rain will likely push up from the south with some thunderstorms possible. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees for most with light to moderate southerly breezes.”

Thursday and Friday Outlook

Thursday will be a mix of cloud, sunny spells, and scattered showers, with temperatures again reaching 21–25°C. On Friday, light rain in the morning will give way to longer periods of sunshine, creating ideal conditions for outdoor plans in the afternoon and evening.

Weekend Predictions

Looking ahead, the weekend is expected to remain warm, with temperatures staying in the low-to-mid 20s. While plenty of dry weather is forecast, further showers are possible at times.

This pattern of humid warmth and intermittent rainfall mirrors recent summers across Ireland, where bursts of continental heat are often tempered by Atlantic moisture.

For those planning barbecues, festivals, or coastal trips, it’s wise to keep both sunscreen and a rain jacket at hand. With the risk of thunderstorms in play, Met Éireann advises keeping an eye on short-term weather updates.
