DALLAS, TEXAS – A shocking and brutal murder has left a family and the community in Dallas reeling after an Indian man was beheaded in front of his wife and son. The victim, 50-year-old Chandra Nagamalliah, was killed by another motel employee, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos Martinez.
The horrific incident occurred at the Downtown Suites Motel. The altercation began when Nagamalliah, the motel manager, approached Martinez and a female coworker who were cleaning a room. Nagamalliah instructed the female employee to tell Martinez not to use a broken washing machine. Martinez became enraged, arguing that Nagamalliah should have addressed him directly.
As the confrontation escalated, Martinez allegedly armed himself with a machete and attempted to stab Nagamalliah. Nagamalliah tried to flee, running outside, but Martinez pursued him. Despite the desperate attempts of Nagamalliah’s wife and son to intervene and stop the attack, they were pushed aside. Martinez then proceeded to cut off Nagamalliah’s head.
After the act, the suspect reportedly threw the severed head into a trash pile in the motel parking lot before attempting to escape. The Dallas Fire and Rescue team apprehended Martinez and handed him over to the police.
Martinez has been charged with murder and is being held in Dallas County Jail. Records indicate that he had a history of criminal cases in both Florida and Houston. The Indian Consulate General in Houston has expressed its condolences and stated that it will provide all necessary support to the grieving family.
