Tel Aviv: Israel has released the first visuals of its attacks on Iran, publishing footage that it claims shows the destruction of military targets, including missile launchers. The video was shared by the Israeli Air Force on X, highlighting what it described as precision strikes against strategic sites in western Iran.
In a statement accompanying the footage, the Israeli Air Force said it had targeted hundreds of locations across western parts of Iran. The military claimed the strikes focused on infrastructure linked to missile systems and other defence assets.
At the same time, Israel said its air defence systems were actively operating to intercept potential threats launched from Iranian territory toward Israeli regions. The military described the defensive measures as part of a coordinated effort to prevent retaliatory attacks while its air operations continued inside Iran.
Coordinated Action with the United States
After months of escalating rhetoric and warnings, Israel and the United States launched strikes against Iranian targets on Saturday. According to Israeli officials, several sites were hit across multiple regions, including areas in and around the capital, Tehran.
The initial phase of the strikes reportedly targeted locations near key sites associated with Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Reports indicate that Khamenei has since been moved to a secure location as a precautionary measure.
While Israel has framed the operation as a pre-emptive strike against military infrastructure, Tehran has strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as acts of aggression.
Casualty Claims in Southern Iran
Iran’s official news agency, IRNA, reported that around 40 people, including children, were killed in an attack on a girls’ school in Minab, located in Hormozgan province in southern Iran. The report alleged that the strike was carried out by Israel and the United States.
Minab is known to host a base of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iranian authorities have not released independent verification of the casualty figures, and there has been no immediate confirmation from Israeli or U.S. officials regarding the specific incident cited by IRNA.

Rising Regional Tensions
The developments mark a significant escalation in tensions between Israel and Iran, two long-standing adversaries whose hostilities have frequently played out through proxy conflicts and covert operations. Direct military engagement between the two states carries serious implications for regional stability, with global powers closely monitoring the situation.
Both sides have traded accusations in recent months, with Israel alleging that Iran has intensified efforts to arm allied militias and develop advanced missile capabilities. Iran, in turn, has accused Israel of repeated violations of its sovereignty.
As air operations continue and defensive systems remain on high alert, concerns are mounting over the potential for further escalation. Diplomatic efforts from regional and international actors are expected to intensify in an attempt to prevent a broader conflict.
Further details are likely to emerge as both sides provide additional statements and as independent verification of claims becomes available.
