DUBLIN: Newly installed public eco-toilets in St Anne’s Park, Raheny, have been rendered unusable due to “appalling” vandalism, just days after being opened following a years-long community campaign.

Labour Councillor Ali Field expressed devastation, noting that local sports clubs and park visitors rely on the facilities. She stated that some units would likely need replacement, calling the act “really appalling.” She appealed to parents to monitor their children’s activities to prevent involvement in such vandalism.

Dublin Bay North TD Barry Heneghan condemned the act as an “attack on our community” showing “complete disrespect for public spaces.” While the installers indicated the units might be salvageable, Heneghan urged anyone with information to contact gardaí.
