Mallow, Co. Cork – Gardaí have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was discovered in Doneraile, Co. Cork, in the early hours of this morning.
The body of the man, aged 44, was found at Rockview Terrace, Doneraile, Mallow, at an unspecified time early on Sunday. An Garda Síochána has stated that it is currently investigating all circumstances surrounding the death.
The scene at Rockview Terrace remains sealed off, and the Assistant State Pathologist, Dr. Margot Bolster, has been contacted to attend. The results of a forthcoming post-mortem examination will be crucial in determining the course of the investigation. The Garda Technical Bureau has also been requested to conduct a full forensic examination of the area.
In response to the discovery, a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the inquiry, and an incident room has been established at Mallow Garda Station. A Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to provide support and continuous updates to the deceased’s family.
Gardaí are making a public appeal for witnesses. They are particularly seeking contact from anyone who was in the vicinity of Doneraile village between midnight and 2 am today, Sunday, October 12, 2025. Furthermore, investigators are requesting any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from individuals who may have travelled through the area during this critical timeframe.
