Dublin — The Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) of An Garda Síochána successfully completed a significant operation on Monday resulting in the removal of 52 individuals from the State.
The removal involved 35 males, 10 females, and seven children. The GNIB confirmed that all the children removed were part of family groups.
All 52 individuals were removed on a chartered flight that departed Dublin Airport on Monday evening, bound for Georgia. The flight successfully touched down in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
This operation marks the sixth time a charter flight has been used this year to remove failed asylum seekers from the State. An Garda Síochána reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating closely with the Department of Justice in the implementation of immigration policy.
Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, commented on the operation, stating that deportations and removals will continue for the remainder of 2025 as the Government continues to enforce immigration decisions.
