DUBLIN, IRELAND—Commuters across Dublin are facing significant travel disruptions as multiple rail and tram services have been impacted by separate incidents.

Dun Laoghaire Station Closure

Services have been suspended at Dun Laoghaire train station due to a medical emergency. While trains are operating through the station, they are not stopping for passengers until further notice. Irish Rail has confirmed that rail tickets will be honored on Dublin Bus for those affected. The incident has caused delays of up to 25 minutes on some services.

Medical Emergency on Howth/Bray Service

Further compounding the rail delays, the 14:15 Howth/Bray service was stopped at Howth Junction due to a medical issue onboard, awaiting the arrival of emergency services. As a result, several services have been altered:

  • The 13:35 Bray/Howth service is terminating at Howth Junction.
  • The 14:55 Howth/Greystones service is starting from Howth Junction.
  • The 13:31 Greystones/Malahide service is terminating at Clongriffin.
  • The 15:04 Malahide/Bray service is starting from Clongriffin.

Luas Red Line Chaos

In addition to the rail disruptions, the Luas Red Line is facing a long-term closure between Connolly and The Point following a recent fire in the Dublin Docklands area. Initial investigations have revealed “significant damage” to the George’s Docklands Bridge, and services will remain closed for at least several weeks. Safety assessments are ongoing, and a replacement bus service is being planned to cover the affected route. Luas officials have stated that services will not resume until all safety checks are complete.
