Malayali Nurse Passes Away in UK; Hails from Kottayam

Liverpool/Kottayam — A Malayali nurse in the UK has passed away. Molykutty Oommen (64), a nurse at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool, died after a brief illness. She was admitted to Liverpool NHS Hospital on August 29th at 6 p.m. following a sudden physical discomfort. She passed away while undergoing treatment on the afternoon of September 4th at 12:15 p.m.

Molykutty, a native of Punnaveli in Nedumkunnam, Kottayam, was also a member of the Palakkal family in Puthuppally Payyapadi. She had been living in the UK since 2002. She is survived by her husband, P.K. Oommen of Punnaveli, and children Mejo Oommen and Philjo Oommen. Her daughter-in-law is Dalia Oommen.

The family has informed that the funeral will be held in the UK. She was a parishioner of the Liverpool Carmel Mar Thoma Church and a member of the Punnaveli St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church in her hometown.
