Man Seriously Injured in Alleged Castlebar Assault

Castlebar, Co. Mayo — A man in his 20s is in serious condition after an alleged assault that occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

Gardaí were alerted to an unconscious man outside a licensed premises on Tucker Street at approximately 2:50 a.m. Emergency services transported the man to Mayo University Hospital, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination as part of an ongoing investigation.

Gardaí are appealing to the public for information. They have asked anyone who was in the Tucker Street area between 2:30 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. and who may have witnessed the incident or has camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, to contact them.
