Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Westmeath Car Crash; Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

ROCHFORTBRIDGE, WESTMEATH – A serious road traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle occurred in Rochfortbridge, Co. Westmeath, yesterday evening, leaving a male motorcyclist in his 30s with severe injuries.

The crash took place at approximately 5:30 PM on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, on Main Street, Rochfortbridge.

Emergency services immediately attended the scene. The injured motorcyclist, who is reported to be in his late 30s, was quickly transported to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore for urgent treatment for his serious injuries. There is no update on his condition as of this morning, Sunday.

Investigation and Traffic Diversions

Gardaí have sealed off the collision scene on Main Street to allow for a comprehensive technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local traffic diversions were put in place overnight and remain in effect as the investigation continues.

A Garda spokesperson has issued an urgent appeal to the public for assistance.

Witness Appeal

Gardaí are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was travelling on Main Street, Rochfortbridge, between 5:15 PM and 5:45 PM on Saturday evening.

  • Dash-Cam Footage: Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area during that timeframe are asked to make this footage available to investigators.
  • Information: Anyone with information regarding the collision is urged to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 044 938 4000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

The investigation is ongoing.
