SLIGO — Gardaí have issued a renewed appeal for public assistance regarding a serious incident of criminal damage by fire at a residential property in the Cranmore area of Sligo early on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted and responded to a report of the fire at approximately 4:10 am. The local fire service successfully extinguished the blaze, and authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The scene at the residential property was immediately preserved, and a technical examination has since been carried out by specialist investigators.

Call for Witnesses and Video Footage

Investigating Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or noticed anything suspicious in the Yeats Drive or Cranmore area between 3:00 am and 5:00 am on Tuesday morning, to contact them immediately.

They are also specifically appealing to any persons who may have video footage from the area during those times, including CCTV and dash-cam recordings, to make this footage available to assist their enquiries.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact:

  • Sligo Garda Station on 071 9157000
  • The Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111
  • Or any Garda Station.
