Several People Dead, Others Injured Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Co Louth

DUNDALK, CO. LOUTH — A number of people have died following a serious two-vehicle collision that occurred in County Louth yesterday evening.

The fatal crash took place shortly after 9:00 PM on the L3168 road in Gibstown, Dundalk. Gardaí (Irish police) confirmed that the incident resulted in “a number of fatalities” and left several others injured.

Emergency services, including Gardaí, immediately responded to the scene, and the area remains sealed off this morning as forensic collision investigators conduct an examination. The deceased and the vehicles involved are still at the site.

The injured individuals were transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to contact Dundalk Garda Station at 042 938 8400, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any local Garda station.
