DUBLIN — A Status Yellow rain warning is in effect for several counties in the south-east of the country, with another warning issued for Northern Ireland. Met Éireann has placed counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford under a warning that began at 5.25 a.m. and will last until 3 p.m. this afternoon. The national forecaster advises of spells of heavy rain that could lead to localised flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions.
Meanwhile, the UK Met Office has issued its own Status Yellow rain warning for Counties Antrim and Down in Northern Ireland. This warning will take effect tomorrow, beginning at noon and remaining in place until 3 a.m. on Sunday morning. The Met Office’s alert cautions of a “small chance that heavy rain may lead to flooding and travel disruption,” urging residents to be prepared for potential issues on the roads and public transport.
