Dublin: Met Éireann has issued two separate Status Orange wind warnings covering a total of 11 counties as Storm Bram tracks towards Ireland, bringing a combination of strong winds and heavy rain.
The first Status Orange wind warning is in effect for the southern and southeastern counties of Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and Wexford. This warning is valid from 7 am to 3 pm on Tuesday.
A second Status Orange wind warning has been issued for the western and northwestern counties of Clare, Limerick, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo. This warning will be in place from 10 am until 6 pm on Tuesday.
Met Éireann has cautioned residents in the affected areas about the strong possibility of:
- Difficult travelling conditions
- Wave overtopping along coastal areas
- Loose objects being displaced
- Impacts on outdoor events
In addition to the Orange warnings:
- A Status Yellow Rain warning is in effect for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, and Waterford from 9 pm on Monday night until 9 am on Tuesday.
- A Status Yellow Wind warning covers the entire country from 3 am on Tuesday until 9 pm on Tuesday.
Monday is expected to see sunny spells and scattered showers, primarily affecting western and northern counties, with highest temperatures ranging between eight and 13 degrees, before the storm fully arrives overnight.
