DUBLIN – Two teenage boys were injured, one seriously, after a car mounted a footpath on the N11 at Foxrock yesterday evening (Friday, November 28) in South Dublin.
The serious incident occurred at approximately 7:30 PM. Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports that a car had veered onto the footpath near a bus stop, colliding with a lamppost and a bin before striking the two pedestrians.
Injuries and Investigation
- Injured Pedestrians: The two teenage boys were immediately taken to hospital. One boy remains in CHI Crumlin receiving treatment for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
- Driver: The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was also transported to hospital for a medical assessment.
- Road Closure: The N11 at Foxrock was closed temporarily for a technical examination but has since been fully reopened.
Gardaí at Dún Laoghaire are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward. Road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N11 at Foxrock around 7:30 PM yesterday evening are urged to make the footage available to investigating Gardaí.
