The US has deported 54 youths from Haryana, who allegedly entered the country illegally via the perilous ‘Donkey Route’. They arrived at Delhi’s IGI Airport on Sunday and were handed over to their families by Karnal Police. The majority of the deportees, aged 25-40, are from districts like Karnal and Kaithal. Police are now investigating the trail, emphasizing the dangers of illegal migration.
Separately, in a significant development, the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) arrested Lakhwinder Singh, alias Lakha, a close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, upon his legal deportation from the USA. Lakha, who was operating from the US since 2022, was wanted in a dozen cases of extortion and firing in Haryana and Punjab. His deportation and arrest follow a Red Corner Notice issued by the STF.
