Sligo/Thiruvalla, India: The family of Anish T.P., an Indian national working as a Care Assistant in Ireland, has raised serious allegations of foul play surrounding his recent death, pointing the finger at his Malayali nurse partner who has since reportedly left the country.
Anish, who was a government employee and in good health, was found dead in a shed near his residence in Sligo on the evening of August 14th. His father, T.K. Purushan, a retired soldier from Pattanamthitta, Kerala, has filed a formal complaint with the local police superintendent.
In the complaint, Purushan stated that his son would never have taken his own life. He alleged that Anish was a victim of severe mental harassment and financial exploitation by his partner, a nurse from Ernakulam district, Kerala, with whom he had been living for several years.
The Pattanamthitta SP has assigned investigation duties to Thiruvalla DYSP S. Nandakumar. The family, represented by their lawyer, has demanded a thorough probe into the circumstances leading to Anish’s death and action against those responsible.
Meanwhile, Thiruvalla police had summoned the accused nurse for questioning. However, indications are that she did not cooperate with the investigation, misled the police, and has since fled India.
The family is seeking justice and indications are that they will also submit a formal complaint to the Chief Minister of Kerala.
