Onam celebrations in Sligo on August 31

Sligo: The Onam celebration held under the auspices of the Indian Association of Sligo will be held on August 31 at Beepark, Manorhamilton.

Media Officer Diaz Xavier informed that all the preparations for the celebrations which will be held from 10 am to 7 pm have been completed.

This year’s highlight is the men’s Vadam Vali, which is held between eight villages, and the women’s teams are also participating.

A 40-member committee is working under the leadership of President Anirban Banja for the success of the Onam celebration, which includes all the unique dishes of Onam. This time the feast is prepared by renowned culinary expert Martin Varghese.
