Met Éireann has issued a heat warning as temperatures could reach 28 degrees this weekend.

The yellow warning covers 14 counties on Friday. These include Dublin, Meath, Kildare, and others in the east and midlands. On Saturday, the warning extends to all of Ireland.

Night temperatures will stay above 15 degrees, making it uncomfortable for sleeping.

Thursday will see temperatures between 22 and 27 degrees. Friday and Saturday could reach 28 degrees or higher. The eastern parts of Ireland will get the most sunshine. Western areas may see more clouds.

Sunday will start sunny in the east and north. However, rain will move in from the southwest during the afternoon. Temperatures will still reach 22 to 28 degrees before the rain arrives.

Next week looks cooler with more rain expected. Temperatures will drop to the high teens or low 20s.

The HSE warns people to protect their skin during this hot weather. Use sunscreen, wear hats, and stay in the shade during midday when UV levels are highest.

Water Safety Ireland asks swimmers to be careful. Choose beaches with lifeguards. Watch out for weever fish in shallow water – they can sting if stepped on. Wear beach shoes for protection.

Uisce Éireann is asking everyone to save water. The hot weather is putting pressure on water supplies across the country.
