Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for Cork and Waterford, with heavy rainfall expected to impact the west and south of Ireland.
The warning for Cork is in effect from 1 PM today until 8 AM on Friday, with spells of heavy rain expected, particularly in south Cork. Potential hazards include spot flooding, reduced visibility, and difficult travel conditions.
For Waterford, the rain warning will be active from 6 PM today until noon on Friday.

This morning will be mostly cloudy, with dry conditions in many areas, though parts of Connacht and Munster may experience light rain or drizzle.
By the afternoon and evening, heavier rain will move northeast across Connacht and Munster, increasing the risk of spot flooding near the south coast. Daytime temperatures will range between 4°C and 8°C.
Overnight, rain will continue spreading northeastward, turning into sleet over high ground in Ulster. The heaviest rain is expected in south Munster, with spot flooding possible. Temperatures will drop to between 0°C and 6°C, with the coldest conditions in Ulster and milder temperatures in the southwest.
Friday & Weekend Outlook
Friday will start wet and blustery, with rain clearing from most of Munster and Connacht in the afternoon, allowing for bright and sunny spells. However, Leinster and Ulster will remain cloudy, with continued rain throughout the day.
Friday night will see cloudy skies, mist, and drizzle, particularly in the east, with temperatures dipping between 2°C and 7°C.
The weekend is set to be dull, with Saturday starting dry but turning cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle moving northward.
Cloudy conditions will persist on Saturday night and into Sunday, with rain and drizzle affecting the northeast and southwest.
Looking ahead to early next week, both Monday and Tuesday are expected to remain cloudy with spells of rain.
