Alanna O’Boyle, a 32-year-old from Strandhill, is poised to make Sligo proud as she steps onto the grand stage of the Miss Universe Ireland Final. The prestigious event is set to unfold at the Fairways Hotel in Dundalk on the evening of Friday, September 20th. Representing the essence of Sligo, Alanna brings a blend of talent, intellect, and a passion for community service to the competition.

With a background in Marketing and Sales, Alanna currently enhances community outreach as a Marketing & Events Executive at Diabetes Ireland. Her journey is adorned with remarkable achievements, including competing at the world championships in Irish Dancing—a testament to her dedication and skill. Furthermore, her commitment extends beyond professional endeavors as she actively supports Pieta House, a charity devoted to mental health.

This year’s Miss Universe Ireland event promises to be a spectacle of beauty, intelligence, and cultural representation, featuring 27 finalists from across Ireland. These talented women will converge to vie for the illustrious title in a ceremony that’s expected to be both glamorous and fiercely competitive.

The evening is set to be elevated with a performance by the Irish chart-topping boyband, ‘Next in Line,’ adding an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings. Aisha Akorede, the reigning Miss Universe Ireland, will pass on her crown to the new titleholder. The winner will carry the honor of representing Ireland at the 73rd Miss Universe final in Mexico City this November 16th. They will follow in the illustrious footsteps of past winners such as Roz Purcell, Joana Cooper, and Aisha Akorede.

The international stage at Miss Universe will see 90 contestants from around the world competing for the coveted crown. These women will participate in various segments including personal statements, in-depth interviews, and the traditional evening gown and swimwear rounds. The climax of the Miss Universe event will witness Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, the 72nd Miss Universe, crowning her successor.

As Alanna O’Boyle prepares for this pivotal moment in her career, Sligo watches with bated breath, hopeful and proud of their local star who is set to shine on a global platform.
