Two contractors tragically lost their lives following a gas cylinder explosion at the premises of Bosch, the world’s largest car parts supplier, according to German police and company officials. The incident occurred on Tuesday in Reutlingen, a city in southwestern Germany.
Local authorities reported that a gas cylinder containing silane gas began leaking outdoors around 7:00 AM GMT. Several workers approached to investigate the situation, but an explosion occurred, leading to the fatalities.
Bosch confirmed the deaths of two contractors and stated that another individual sustained minor injuries. A company spokesperson expressed their condolences in a statement emailed to Reuters, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the death of the two employees of the external company. Our thoughts are with their families.”
