AHMEDABAD, INDIA – A Qatar Airways flight en route from Doha (DOH) to Hong Kong (HKG) executed a precautionary emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPIA) in Ahmedabad on Tuesday (October 14, 2025), following a reported “technical issue.”
The flight, designated QR816, landed safely at approximately 2:32 p.m. local time. All passengers and crew members were reported safe and unharmed.
Airport authorities confirmed that a “full emergency” was declared at 2:12 p.m. to facilitate the safe arrival of the aircraft. This precautionary measure was withdrawn shortly after the successful touchdown, at 2:38 p.m., indicating the situation was quickly brought under control.
The airport issued an official statement: “Due to a technical issue on an aircraft en route from Doha to Hong Kong, a full emergency was declared to enable the aircraft to land safely. The aircraft landed without incident, and airport operations remained unaffected.”

Sources indicate that detailed technical inspections are currently underway to assess the aircraft’s airworthiness and determine whether it can continue its journey to Hong Kong.
