DUBLIN — A serious assault in the early hours of this morning in Dublin’s Temple Bar has left an English tourist in his 40s in critical condition. The man was hospitalised after the incident, which occurred in the popular Temple Bar Square area.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 12:30 am. The victim was found with serious injuries and was immediately transported to Beaumont Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.
According to a statement from the Garda Press Office, investigators believe the assault stemmed from an altercation between the injured man and another individual. The scene was preserved for a full technical examination, which has since been completed.
Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
