WATERFORD — Gardaí in Waterford have issued a public safety advisory following the theft of a laptop from a vehicle parked in the Claremont area on the Cork Road this week.

The incident occurred overnight between November 10 and 11, during which a silver HP laptop was stolen from the vehicle.

A Garda spokesperson offered practical advice to the public: “Advice for people is to ensure your vehicle is locked and to have a ‘find my device’ app or program set up for your device. We have successfully retrieved items this way previously.”

The warning serves as a reminder to all motorists to secure their vehicles fully, especially overnight, and to utilize location-tracking technology to safeguard valuable items stored inside.
