Emergency Services Respond to Crash on Southbound Lane; Motorists Advised to Proceed with Caution

Ennis, Co. Clare: Emergency services units are currently dealing with a multiple-car collision on the M18 motorway in County Clare.

The incident occurred in the southbound lane, specifically between Junction 11 (Dromoland) and Junction 10 (Newmarket On Fergus), shortly after 8:00 AM this morning.

Gardaí and the Clare County Fire Service were immediately deployed to the scene. Thankfully, initial reports indicate that no injuries were sustained by those involved in the multi-vehicle incident.

While the motorway remains open to traffic, significant delays are expected due to the presence of emergency vehicles and the ongoing clear-up operation. Authorities are strongly urging motorists travelling in the southbound direction to reduce speed immediately upon approach and exercise extreme caution through the affected area.

Drivers are advised to allow for extra journey time this morning until normal traffic flow resumes.
