Waterford : The Kerala Muslim Community Ireland (KMCI), in collaboration with Helping Hand Waterford, successfully hosted a Family Charity Meet on October 11, 2025, at the Ballygunner GAA Club Auditorium, Waterford.

As part of this charitable initiative, food items and monetary contributions collected through KMCI’s fundraising efforts were formally handed over to Helping Hand Waterford by Waterford Mayor Seamus Ryan. The program aimed to provide assistance to feed the homeless and support those in need across Ireland.

KMCI Secretary Fameer C.K. welcomed the gathering, while Chair Anaz M. Syed delivered the Presidential address. In his keynote speech, Mayor Sèamus Ryan highlighted the significance of charity in the Qur’an, drawing on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about compassion, generosity, and service to humanity.

Stephanie Keating, Vice Treasurer of Helping Hand Waterford, and Mary Dundon, Secretary of Helping Hand Waterford, also addressed the gathering. They spoke about the ongoing activities and community initiatives undertaken by Helping Hand to assist the underprivileged population in and around Waterford.

KMCI Treasurer, Janeesh Puzhakkal delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the event.

With the participation of over 15 families and more than 40 members, the Family Charity Meet turned into a warm and joyful gathering filled with delicious food, fun games, and moments of togetherness. The event beautifully reflected KMCI’s enduring commitment to social responsibility, humanitarian service, and community unity in Ireland.
