Dublin Airport is making big changes to security rules starting at midnight tonight. Passengers will no longer need to take liquids, gels, or electronics out of their hand luggage when going through security.
The old 100ml liquid rule is now gone completely. Travelers can now carry up to 2 litres of liquids in their hand luggage. You also don’t need to pack liquids in clear plastic bags anymore.
These changes are possible because Dublin Airport has installed new C3 security scanners. These advanced machines can see inside bags much better than old scanners. This means security staff don’t need passengers to remove items anymore.
The new system should make getting through security much faster and easier. Passengers won’t need to unpack and repack their bags as much. This could reduce waiting times, especially during busy travel periods.
The changes apply to all passengers flying from Dublin Airport. Both Irish and international travelers will benefit from the new rules. The airport expects the new scanners to handle the same security checks while being more convenient for everyone.
Dublin Airport joins other major airports around the world that have upgraded to this newer scanning technology. The changes should make travel smoother while keeping the same high security standards.
