Co Kildare, Ireland – A man in his 30s has tragically died after being struck by a bus on the N7 motorway in County Kildare on Saturday afternoon. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 3:30 PM between Junction 8 and Junction 7 eastbound at Kill.

The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Tallaght University Hospital, where he sadly passed away late on Saturday evening. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place in due course.

The driver of the bus, also a man in his 30s, was reported to be uninjured. Two passengers on the bus received non-life threatening injuries in the incident.

The eastbound stretch of the N7 motorway between Junction 8 and Junction 7 remains closed overnight for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place as the investigation proceeds.

This incident brings the number of pedestrians killed on Irish roads since Friday night to three, following separate fatal collisions in other parts of the country.

Garda Appeal for Witnesses

Gardaí are urgently appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward. They are also asking any road users, especially those with camera footage (including dash-cam), who were travelling on the N7 near Kill at the time of the collision, to make this footage available.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Naas Garda Station on (045) 884 300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any local Garda station.
