WESTMEATH, IRELAND — A lottery player in County Westmeath has become a multi-millionaire overnight after winning the €6,241,505 Lotto jackpot in Wednesday night’s draw.
This marks the ninth Lotto jackpot winner of 2025 and the 26th National Lottery millionaire created this year.
The win is particularly remarkable as it is the second major prize to land in Westmeath this week, following a local player securing the EuroDreams tier two prize worth €2,000 a month for five years on Monday.

Cork Player Also Wins Big: Elsewhere, a player in Cork is celebrating a significant win, matching five numbers and the bonus to secure €122,669. This Quick Pick ticket was purchased on December 2nd from Broderick’s Shop, Shanagarry Cross, Midleton, Co. Cork.
National Lottery spokesperson Darragh O’Dwyer urged all players in Westmeath and Cork to check their tickets immediately. “We’re thrilled to announce Ireland’s newest millionaire… This is an extraordinary week of big wins for our players!” he said.
