Amazon has officially launched Amazon.ie, a dedicated online shopping platform for customers in Ireland.

With over 200 million products available in euro, Irish customers can now enjoy faster deliveries, easier returns, and no additional customs fees when shopping on the new site.

Supporting Irish Businesses

As part of its commitment to local commerce, Amazon has introduced a “Brands of Ireland” page in collaboration with Enterprise Ireland. This initiative will showcase Irish businesses—both small and large—including popular brands like Barry’s Tea, Bewley’s, and Ella & Jo.

Key Benefits for Irish Customers

Until now, most Irish shoppers relied on Amazon sites in the UK or Europe. With Amazon.ie, they can now:

✅ Shop in euro, avoiding currency conversion fees
✅ Benefit from faster shipping and hassle-free returns
✅ Join Amazon Prime for €6.99/month for free delivery, exclusive deals, and entertainment
✅ Seamlessly switch from UK Prime membership, with automatic cancellation and refund

Amazon’s Growing Presence in Ireland

Amazon’s investment in Ireland has been growing steadily. In 2022, the company opened a warehouse and distribution center in Dublin, creating 500 jobs. Today, Amazon employs around 6,500 people in Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda.

Speaking on the launch, Alison Dunn, Amazon Ireland Country Manager, emphasized the company’s long-term commitment to Ireland:

“We have been building towards this moment since the launch of our Fulfilment Centre in Dublin in 2022, and we can’t wait to write the next chapter of our story in Ireland.”

Government Support & Economic Impact

The Irish government has welcomed Amazon’s expansion. Enterprise Minister Peter Burke highlighted that Amazon.ie will help Irish SMEs grow their online presence, reach international markets, and create local jobs.

Meanwhile, Taoiseach Micheál Martin stated that the new site will increase consumer choice, improve value, and support Irish businesses in promoting their products both locally and globally.

In 2023, Irish SMEs selling on Amazon recorded over €170 million in export sales, with more than half of these sales going outside the EU.

With the launch of Amazon.ie, Irish businesses and consumers alike stand to benefit from a smoother shopping experience, better deals, and stronger global reach.
