The Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary, has announced the activation of the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme to provide much-needed support to households impacted by the severe weather conditions caused by Storm Éowyn.

The scheme is designed to offer income-tested financial assistance to individuals and families whose homes have suffered damage due to flooding or other adverse effects from extreme weather. This initiative aims to alleviate hardship for those who may not have the financial means to cover essential needs, including household items and structural repairs.

Key Features of the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme

    • The scheme is intended to offer critical financial relief to those unable to meet the costs associated with essential repairs and replacements following weather-related damage.
  2. Eligibility
    • Assistance is income-tested, meaning support is targeted toward those most in need, ensuring fair and effective distribution of resources.
  3. Types of Support
    • Financial aid is available for the repair or replacement of essential household items.

  • Emergency Contact for the Weekend:
    📞 087 289 5001 – Available from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday for emergency-related calls.

    📧 ei.eraflewobfsctd-6aae67@SWCND – This email address will be monitored outside of operating hours to address urgent concerns.
