A total of 387 admitted patients are currently on trolleys in Irish hospitals as of August 15, 2025, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO)

University Hospital Limerick (UHL) tops the list with 63 patients waiting for beds.

That is followed by University Hospital Galway with 57, and Cork University Hospital with 45

The report also notes that Tipperary University Hospital (TUH) in Clonmel had 18 patients, unchanged from the previous day

Suspension of Mammogram Services at Mayo University Hospital

Mammogram services at Mayo University Hospital (MUH) have been temporarily suspended following the retirement of the hospital’s radiographer

In the interim, all appointments are being redirected to Galway University Hospital

Minister of State Alan Dillon TD has voiced deep concern, stating:

“This is a deeply regrettable situation for Mayo patients who rely on Mayo University Hospital for vital mammogram services. Equality of access to healthcare is a fundamental right, and Mayo people deserve the same standard of timely care as anyone else in the country.”

The HSE confirms that a new radiographer has been recruited and is expected to begin in early 2026, while efforts to find a temporary replacement continue
