Christmas Eve Tragedy: Man Dies in Lorry and Car Collision in Co. Limerick

LIMERICK – A man has lost his life following a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry in the early hours of Christmas Eve.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:00 AM on Wednesday, December 24th, on the N20 road in the Bruree area. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry, a man in his 20s, was transported to University Hospital Limerick with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

The N20 remains closed between O’Rourke’s Cross and Banogue as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene. Motorists are strictly advised to avoid the route.

Garda Appeal: Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses, particularly those traveling on the N20 between 1:40 AM and 2:15 AM. Anyone with dash-cam footage is asked to contact:
