CAVAN, IRELAND – A lucky family syndicate from Cavan Town has officially collected their life-changing €17 million EuroMillions jackpot. The winning ticket was purchased at the Lidl store on Athlone Road on Friday, December 12th.

The Winning Moment

The syndicate, consisting of a father, son, and daughter, described the hours following the draw as “pure chaos.” One family member revealed they had to make several frantic calls before anyone answered.

“Imagine sitting with a ticket worth €17 million and I can’t get anyone on the phone! When they finally called back, they just kept asking if I was sure,” the winner shared.

Future Plans

The family plans to stay grounded despite their new wealth. Their immediate priorities include:

  • Family Homes: Buying houses for close family members to ensure long-term security.
  • Holiday Home: Searching for a getaway property in France to enjoy summers together.
  • Safety First: The winning ticket was so valuable that a local bank kept it in their safe until it could be validated.

In a separate stroke of luck, a man from Co. Louth is also celebrating after winning over €25,000 in the December 20th Lotto draw with a ticket bought in Ravensdale, Dundalk.
