CAHIR, TIPPERARY: Gardaí have launched a major investigation after a young man in his 20s was left in a critical condition following a serious assault in Cahir in the early hours of Saturday, December 20.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:40 AM in the vicinity of Abbey Street and Barrack Street. Emergency services attended the scene, and the victim was rushed to Tipperary University Hospital, where he remains under intensive care.
The area has been cordoned off and preserved for a forensic technical examination. Gardaí are urgently appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the Abbey Street or Barrack Street area between 1:15 AM and 2:00 AM.
Investigating officers are also requesting anyone with video footage, including mobile phone or dash-cam recordings from the time, to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact:
