Woman and Young Boy Die in Tragic House Fire in Co. Offaly

EDENDERRY, CO. OFFALY — A devastating house fire in Edenderry, Co. Offaly, on Saturday evening has resulted in the deaths of two people: a 60-year-old woman and a young boy.  

Emergency services were called to the domestic residence in Castleview Park, Edenderry, at approximately 7:45 pm. The local Fire Service quickly extinguished the blaze.  

Gardaí confirmed the two fatalities on Sunday morning. A second woman, aged in her 50s, was also seriously injured in the fire and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in the Midlands.  

Gardaí in Tullamore are now investigating all the circumstances surrounding the fatal fire. They are appealing to the public for assistance and information.  

Garda Appeal for Witnesses:

Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Tullamore Garda Station on 057 932 7600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.  

Investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected.
