Young Man (20s) Killed in Single-Car Crash in Co Tipperary

Tipperary— A man in his 20s has died following a fatal road traffic collision in County Tipperary on Wednesday night. The incident occurred at approximately 9:45pm on the N24 at Cordangan Cross, near Tipperary town.  

The Incident The victim, who was the driver and sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was subsequently removed to Waterford University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place.  

Garda Investigation and Witness Appeal The road remained closed throughout Thursday morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses:  

  • Dash-cam Footage: Any road users traveling between Tipperary town and the Bansha Road between 9:00pm and 10:00pm on Wednesday, December 17th, are asked to provide any available footage.  
  • Vehicle of Interest: Investigators are specifically seeking information regarding the movements of a 2005-registered grey Toyota Yaris during this period.
