Authorities have sealed off a house in Letterkenny, County Donegal, following reports of potential human remains at the site. Gardaí launched an investigation early this morning at Leck Cottages in the Oldtown area, with detectives and forensic officers conducting a detailed search.

Sources indicate that the search was initiated after a tip-off from a member of the public. The homeowner had been notified in advance, and officials have clarified that the current resident has no connection to the investigation.

As part of the search, officers have removed several items from the garden, including a coal bunker. A mini excavator has also been brought in to assist in excavation efforts. While details remain limited, it is believed that any remains discovered would date back to before the year 2000.

Local residents have expressed shock over the unfolding operation. Gardaí have stated that no further details will be released until the search is complete.
