DUBLIN — Irish Rail has announced it has identified a supplier to restore catering trolley services on the Sligo-Dublin train line, a move welcomed by local officials. The company is currently working on funding to reinstate the service, which has been unavailable since the start of the pandemic.

While other train routes have seen the return of onboard catering, the Sligo to Dublin Connolly line has remained without the service. Sligo-Leitrim Senator Nessa Cosgrove has been actively campaigning for the restoration of the service and says she will continue to push for a specific timeline for its return in the coming months. The catering carts were removed from all services in 2020 as a result of the pandemic.
