DUBLIN, IRELAND A major security alert was triggered in Dublin today after an Irish naval vessel reportedly spotted five drones operating in close proximity to the flight path reserved for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s aircraft.

The incident occurred near the Howth coast, according to the initial reports from the Irish Navy. The high number of unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) operating near a sensitive flight corridor immediately prompted authorities to activate an extensive security protocol.

President Zelenskiy was understood to be en route to Dublin for a scheduled visit, making his flight highly sensitive. The presence of five drones near the designated route raised serious concerns about potential surveillance or interference with the presidential flight.

While no direct threat to the aircraft was ultimately confirmed, the unusual activity necessitated immediate action from Irish defence and security forces. The incident highlights the complex and heightened security challenges faced by countries hosting high-profile international leaders, particularly those connected to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Irish authorities are currently investigating the origin and intent of the drone operators. The area around the Howth coastline and the flight path remains under close surveillance as a precaution. Further details on the security measures taken and the status of the President’s arrival are expected later today.
